Nickel Alert® is a fast, easy, and reliable solution for detecting nickel in everyday metal items such as jewellery, watches, jean studs, and eyeglass frames. In just 30 seconds, it can identify even trace amounts of nickel, helping you avoid unwanted skin reactions.

Each bottle comes in a convenient, easy-to-use squeezable design and provides over 200 tests. One bottle contains 0.5 oz (14.8 ml).

About Nickel Alert

Nickel Alert is a ready-to-use dimethylglyoxime (DMG) spot test, pre-mixed for accuracy and convenience. This eliminates guesswork and reduces mess, ensuring consistent and reliable results.

It is safe to use and will not damage metal surfaces.

Nickel Alert is highly sensitive, capable of detecting free nickel at levels as low as 10 ppm (parts per million). This is below the threshold at which most individuals would experience a reaction.

How to Use

• Apply 2–3 drops of Nickel Alert onto a cotton swab.
• Firmly rub the metal surface for 15–30 seconds.
• A pink or red colour on the swab indicates the presence of nickel.
• Use a new swab for each test.

For reference, testing a nickel coin (which contains approximately 25% nickel) will produce a clear positive result.

Nickel Alert can also be used to test items coated with Nickel Guard® to confirm the protective barrier is still effective.

Use in a well-ventilated area.

While Nickel Alert does not harm metal, it may affect coated surfaces such as varnish or antique finishes.

Some evaporation over time is normal and does not affect product performance.

These products are designed to detect and help protect against nickel exposure on metal surfaces. Results may vary depending on application and external factors beyond our control.

For safety reasons, Nickel Alert cannot be returned once the tamper-evident seal has been opened.
