Mepilex® Lite is a thin, soft silicone foam wound dressing designed for wounds with low to moderate levels of wound fluid. Its lightweight, flexible construction conforms closely to the body, making it particularly useful for curved, mobile or difficult-to-dress areas.

Featuring Safetac® soft silicone technology, Mepilex Lite is designed to adhere gently to the surrounding skin while helping minimise trauma and discomfort during dressing changes.

What is Mepilex Lite Used For?

Mepilex Lite is designed for the management of wounds with low levels of wound fluid and may be suitable for wounds such as:

• Minor burns
• Minor cuts
• Superficial wounds
• Low-exuding wounds
• Wounds located on difficult-to-dress areas
• Fragile or sensitive skin requiring additional protection

Its thin profile makes Mepilex Lite a useful option where a conventional or thicker foam dressing may be uncomfortable or difficult to position.

How Mepilex Lite Works

Mepilex Lite combines an absorbent polyurethane foam layer with Mölnlycke's Safetac® soft silicone contact layer.

The foam absorbs light wound fluid and helps support an appropriate wound-healing environment, while the Safetac layer is designed to adhere gently to the surrounding skin rather than aggressively sticking to the wound surface.

This can help reduce discomfort and minimise damage to fragile skin during dressing changes.

Precautions

• Do not use on patients with a known hypersensitivity to Mepilex Lite or any of its materials.
• Do not use together with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide.
• If signs of clinical infection occur — including fever, redness, warmth or swelling around the wound — consult a healthcare professional for appropriate treatment.
• Do not reuse. Reuse may affect product performance and may result in cross-contamination.
• The product is supplied sterile. Do not use if the sterile barrier has been damaged or opened before use.
• Do not re-sterilise.

Important Information

The polyurethane foam used in Mepilex Lite may become more yellow when exposed to light, air and/or heat. This colour change does not affect the properties of the product when it is used before its expiry date.

If a serious incident occurs in relation to the use of Mepilex Lite, it should be reported to Mölnlycke Health Care and the appropriate local regulatory authority.
